“Amazing Instrument. It offers just more from everything! Tuned high it has all the pop and presence from a small side snare, but with really beautiful and well rounded overtones and superb tone, not kind of boxy, like some piccolo snares tend to sound. Tuned really low and with only little dampening, it has that amazing disco thud you normally only get with a towel and and there is still tone and way more volume and presence than with a towel.”

True Solid Marri (Prototype) 14”x6.5”
“I’ve been playing this Marri prototype since 2018 that Paul built for me to custom specs. To say it’s an absolute monster is an understatement. This one of a kind beast has withstood the harsh 40C+ temperatures of dry Western Australian to the -15C+ arctic chill of Quebec, Canada. The best way to describe the Marri would be like a super charged wooden Supraphonic. It has all the explosive, snap and punch of a Supra but with the gooey warmth and colour of a wooden drum. The colour that Marri gives this drum is like none other, particularly in the mid range frequencies. The log drum construction provides a notably distinctive sound compared to ply, block and steam-bent drums due to the grain structure running unadulterated directly down the shell. It kind of “nukes” the midrange frequencies, making them very pronounced, rich and very organic. Pure and woody…but with a metallic note to it. The best of both worlds! As are all the other incredible drums that I’ve road-tested for PA Lovetone. Check them out and add these behemoths of a drum to your collection! I promise you won’t regret it!”
